Before DNA, people had to go to libraries and find like microfilm and records. You would have to send a big old microfilm reader and crank it then track down your ancestors' county for counter. Microfilm was the digitizing of the day back then,. That was the equivalent of that. But computers revolutionized everything. And every day records are still being digitized.
