"I think I had a patient experience during residency that has really stuck with me around kind of an adverse event from antibiotics," she says. "It's really interesting actually to study why people overprescribed because they're afraid that in the middle of the night someone's going to die and so their response is, let me do everything possible." She adds: "We care about our patients making it through the night now but we have to refocus more on those side effects"
