Socrates and the Republic
The republic begins with a earnest defender of Justice Kefilis who's also a pious old man. And he goes away and then it seems like, oh, we've gotten rid of piety. But it's working in the background because Glaucon is asking throughout the republic to philosophy give us support for justice.
