The Myopic and Short-Sighted View of Race in America

The majority of white folks that fought in the Civil War to maintain the institution of slavery did not own slaves. That's why it came into existence for that purpose They said hey, we're gonna create this status you'll be able to vote if you're a man and have all these advantages though you will still be poor use before because if you guys did my job. The reason that they maintained the institution was not so they can own slaves But so that they could continue to experience the advantage that they had of being white In a society where black and white people were not living amongst one another equally.
