A 67 year old woman who's recently admitted from rehab for failure to thrive. She has a history of severe esophageal disnotility requiring nasogasric tube feeding. At 9 p.m., her nurse gets stat paged by her nurse with a finger stick glucose that is reading 22. It's not hypoglycemia until you've got low glucose with symptoms that improve with treatment, he says.
