The Importance of Paying Attention to What Others Say

Sally Kohn: I could not find an alternative narrative, like a counter narrative that had any purchase. The way it started to fall apart for me was partly just paying attention to the stuff going on in the tech industry where they were praised for being innovative and Theranos is a great example. It became very clear that they weren't actually as worth as people said they were. And then I started meeting more people who had gone through the same personal journey that I had from a variety of different backgrounds. That helped me to feel a little less alone.
