Bitcoin Core

The system relies, I think, mostly on somebody ringing the alarm bell. So it's much mostly about transparency. And if a few people do like a geeks reproducible build, start up a Bitcoin core. Everybody uses that binary should not everybody, but you have some sense of comfortability that it does what you think it's going to do.
