Air Pollution Is a Leading Cause of Death, but It's a Preventable Problem

Air pollution is a leading global killer. It's responsible for more than 8 million deaths every year globally. In the US, we know that air pollution and specifically particle pollution is responsible for 350,000 deaths every year. These are people who are probably older adults with underlying conditions who are dying earlier because they are breathing tiny particles that can be prevented. The good news is that it's a preventable problem.
