Positive Pressure Ventilation Doesn't Change the Outcome of Pneumothoracies

Even for pneumothoracies found on CT that are 3 centimeters from the apex you can safely simply observe those patients. What about if those patients need to be vented for whatever reason? I mean I would really worry that with a 3 centimeter pneumothorax on a ventilator you'd have to watch them like a hawk to make sure that they're not going to progress to attention pneumo. Now the question about positive pressure ventilation or PPV is very interesting. We don't know at this point.
