What's the Story of John Knox?
John Knox is sometimes thought of as the father of Scottish Protestantism. In 1558 he wrote a book saying women are not fit to wield religious authority. His best chance of a Protestant nation seems to have arrived in England. He writes letters to Mary of Gies and Elizabeth and manages to turn them against him even more than they were beforehand.
