The Effects of Airplanes on Weather
This edition of crowdscience is dedicated to finding out. We'll be exploring how less air travel during this pandemic might have affected our weather and climate. To make rain, you need a cloud, which happens when tiny cloud droplets form around airborne particles called aerosols. Could it be that exhaust emissions from airplanes also act as aerosols to make it rain? Well, there is a way to artificially make this process happen. It's called cloud seeding. You can see these gaps in clouds or these holes in clouds by Googling them. They're really quite stunning.
