The Four Minute Mile

The four minute mile had never been broken for 2000 years, you know, since the Greeks or whatever. It got broke three more times in the next two weeks. This happens in science in a fascinating way. A guy would announce that he had solved a theorem. He'd announced it was going to be at a math conference. Three other people would beat them to the punch. That's like getting laid in high school. You know, nothing. And then the clouds part and the pussy remains.
