I'm a very visual learner. If I can see the Pythagorean theorem or I can see Pi demonstrated on a wheel, that's what it meant this whole time. And I feel like math, for me, it starts to become useful when I can imagine that it is a framework for building up levels of abstraction to understand. Right. Very complicated things that are happening like right here in this conversation,. Like it's somewhat reduced, reduced, reducing, reduced, reduced and then eventually we're getting down just to math. Just yeah, yeah, yeah.
In this episode we explore the weirdness and wonder of Math Without Numbers with mathematician Milo Beckman who wrote a book about the math behind multiple infinities, strange topologies, and extra dimensions, all without using numbers to explain some of the most fascinating and complex ideas that usually only make sense when scribbled in strange notations on a blackboard.
