Time Warner and Jerry Levin Buying the Kool-Aid
Cara Swisher, who was with Time Warner at the time, says people were riding high on something and they thought that this made sense. Jerry Levin, the CEO of Time Warner and then CEO of the combined company, he has a quote from the when the deal gets announced. He's basically saying like, this company that's buying us like, it kind of has no business. So I don't want to be too disparaging of them because really, as Cara said, like everybody believed it then, but like they drank the Kool-Aid.
