The Markets Don't Work for Large Segments of Society
Markets don't work for large segments of society who believe that they can tae take a vacation from physics and arithmetic. The markets are messy, and the outcomes that markets give are inconvenient to people who forgot to save or didn't have the ability to save. I'm not trying to say that the near term outcomes that markets provide are what the big thinkers would describe as equitable, or even they are optimal. And ignoring the fact that they are is harmful, both to human kind and to the fortunes of individual investors.
