How Important Was It for the Movie to Feel True?
I'm always fascinated by a dockey drama like this. I wanted to make sure that we didn't gloss over it, and that it made it whet. You're dealing with a f 14 year old black ki, different ifferent than just a 14 year old kid,. Not any kid, 14 year old, young black girl. And so just understanding where his mind was at in turms of protecting his family, was something that we really wanted to lay into.
