The Future of Face Detection

I'm not sure if face detection has a place in home automation just yet. It's, to me, it almost crosses that line of boundaries in terms of privacy and that kind of stuff. I do think down the road as this becomes more normal, it'll be like, "Oh, okay, whatever" But until that happens, I would still rather use something like motion or something like that over Face Detection.
