The Importance of Carbon Free Energy
Methane is better than burning a lot of coal because it has much less carbon. But methane leaks are themselves a threat to the climate, so if we're going to use gas, we've got to tighten restrictions on leaks and transport. It may also involve a thumb on the scale of carbon taxation so that people pay for the damage they do by burning fossil fuels. That will accelerate the transition to nuclear, to renewables for storage, and possibly with methane as a transition.
