If you take your dog, the dog owners live longer and they are healthier than people that don't have dogs. But is it fair to keep animals as pets? That's a question. The ethics of keeping an animal. Is it up to us to do that? Well, I mean, for a lot of the time, these pets are, the only reason they exist is so that they can be had as pets. It's not like they're being taken out of the wild. No. So they, they, they're being brought into existence in order to be pets. And there is an argument to say we should stop having pets because all that meat has to be farmed.
Usually when I talk to my brother on the podcast we talk about fairly obscure topics, like cult films, musical subcultures or skateboarding, but this time we chose a universal topic; pets. Listen to this conversation to hear James and me remembering the pets we had as children and discussing some issues related to keeping animals as pets.
