FBI vs. Fugazo: A Case Study
The ACLU is covering FBI versus Fugazo, F-A-Z-A-G-A. So FBI versus Fazaga, who was an imam in Orange County, California. This was a landmark case that went up in front of Supreme Court. It was kicked back down to the Ninth Circuit on a 9 to 0 ruling stating that they in fact needed to go back and have it re-ajuticated. The informant indiscriminately gathered names, telephone numbers, email addresses, as well as information on the religious and political beliefs of hundreds of Muslim Americans.
