The Cognitive Science of Religion and Ritual
Rituals are one of many possible topics in cognitive science, religion or psychology. There's a whole sort of stream of research and cognitive science religion on ritual. The first work I did was in theory of mind, and in looking at different ways of experiencing God in prayer. And so that piece, I just became more and more interested in how ritual works than when I got connected with Justin Barrett and the cognitive science of religion.
