Greenwood, Oklahoma - A Place of Hope and Hope
i was amazed by the many giants of black history who visited greenwood, people like w e b de boys and bill basey. But i five my most drawn to the people who just lived there, the everyday people pulled to greenwood hoping to lead full and happy lives. One of the most compelling stories i encountered was of mabel little; she left her home in Oklahoma at 17 years old with only a dollar 50 on her credit card. The newly s looked up to the many black aunch banors they encountered in town. They wanted the same fancy clothes, cars and luxury homes as their hard working neighbors.
