The Different Types of Hyponeutremia

Osmolality is measured by freezing point depression, not going to be affected by that. The reason we care about hyponatremia is because it causes changes in tissue volume. And when you get a very high sodium, sodium is an extracellular ion and that high osmolality outside the cells is going to draw water from the cellular compartment to the extracellular compartment. It's going to cause cells to shrink. Tissues don't like to have their volume changed. All of those side effects are dependent on whether or not they're treated with insulin.
