The Nuragic Civilization of Sardinia
An extraordinary, mysterious Mediterranean Bronze Age civilization that lived on the island of Sardinia. It was called the Nuragic Civilization. Now at the Fitzwillie Museum in Cambridge, they have got a brilliant new exhibition all about island civilizations from the ancient Mediterranean. These civilizations include Nuragic Sardinia, but also Minoan Crete and the peoples that dwelled on the Island of Cyprus. Get this? There is a group of artifacts known as the Terracotta Army of Cyprus. This exhibition brings together all of these different artifacts from places varying from Sardinia to Cyprus. And it shines a light on how these island communities weren't isolated, they were connected with the much wider ancient Mediterranean world.
