Hiring Data Scientists: What Was Your Hat for Getting Great People?
Most of the people that ended up joining the data team were just like either fresh out of university or had never been in the data space before. We also recruited some people internally. Maybe they were hired for like a summer job for some other part of the company. One of them was hired to edit photos as a summer job, and then he actually registered to go study mathematics in the university. So we sort of hired him as an intern alongside his studies. And then eventually he became a data scientist.
