The Role of Bees in the Commonwealth
The queen bee, as has been already stated, will live four or five years. The workers are supposed by him to live six or seven months. Their age depends very much upon their greater or less exposure to injurious influences and severe labors. Those reared in the spring and early part of summer do not appear to live more than two or three months.
