Bridge to Transplant - Challenges in an Awake Patient

In general, having these patients non-intubated as a bridge to transplant is typically the way we tend to go. One particularly difficult challenge in an awake patient who's bridging the transplant is what happens if that patient no longer becomes a transplant candidate. That would be potentially very challenging for the patient themselves and their family member.
