Why New Writers Shouldn't Be So Hard on Their Protagonists
Sally Kohn: One thing I do see a lot is very people write very personal things or things that are based on in reality. And sometimes there's a disconnect between people wanting to write what really happened and people know it, she says. "I think another thing is like there's so much talk about like likable characters and I think people are afraid sometimes to show the flaws," Salkin adds. 'If your character's not actively going after a goal, they can't fail that bad'
