Is There a Problem With Online Voter Suppression?
The former Facebook executive says he was fired for trying to prevent voter suppression tactics ahead of the 2018 midterm elections. He argues that Mark Zuckerberg and others at the top made a political decision not to crack down on ads engaging in lies about the election, because they didn't want to anger one party over the other. The social media companies know how to do these things, but why don't they? Because money is more important than figuring out how to create healthier discourse or evenfigure out how to destroy people's trust with falsehoods.
