There's definitely something of interest and one other spoiler free, but I would highly recommend checking out the great plateau at night. It doesn't always pop up, but there's something interesting there if you visited at night. The game gets harder if you beat it and then go back to because it basically deposits you right before the final boss. But so it gives you like Breath of the Wild, a little star by your save file.
