The Y2K Crisis
The Y2K crisis an event that was covered by the folks at 60 minutes as well in real time back in 1998. There was a tremendous amount of concern that when clocks struck midnight on January 1st 2000 that many computers all across the world would simply stop working. It turns out that much of the extraordinary expense incurred trying to avert the Y2K calamity was probably wasted there are numerous countries that spent no money whatsoever and did virtually no preparation for the bug.
