Can We Take Mathematics as Mathematicians Practice It?
In 19 36, church wrote a paper called an unsolvable problem of number theory. He was trying to formalize mathematics and break it down into something whereas hilbert would say, you didn't rally even have to be talking about athematics. It's a formal system. And so that was kind of the motivation for many of these things. For shon finco, it was the motivation for church. It was the motivation, indirectly, well effectively, for girdle and so on. But I've recently come to the conclusion that the idea of breaking mathematics down in this kind of axiomatic way is actually a mistake and the wrong direction. In any case,
