The Heavens Are a Dome, Right?
The church fathers thought that the world was round and there were seven layers of heaven, which corresponded to the sun, the moon and the five visible planets. So we don't think that the heavens are a dome any more. John walton says if science is fluid throughout time, why would god pick the science of a thousand a d over another? He 's going to pick thescience of the people who were the original audience, which, as far as we know, was the people that were wandering around in the wilderness with moses.
