Many scientists and philosophers believe consciousness doesn't have a purpose so in philosophical jargon we might say it's epiphenomenal. But what then granted everything we've just been discussing about affect for instance that's where affective consciousness stems in the upper brain stem. What is the purpose then that consciousness has and how does this maybe relate to its evolutionary origin? Okay, thank you.
