"If it were nothing, you'd be unconscious. That's not what this is," he says. "You form a concept of what would nothingness be like ... and there would still be this awareness." He then asks: 'What if i didn't insist on that? So whatever jana would come next wouldn't require my supervision?' And we go into the eighth jana called neither perception nor non perception.
