John 17 is one of my favourite scriptures, and i pray with it a lot on my solemn retreat. It could also potentially be a prayer that joseph would have recited, some of it, not word for but a lot of it. And so its like me as the body of christ, ben and extension of them, reciting this prayer to the father on their behalf.
