The Kenyan Boulou Raise
Kenya Boulou was shot by police in 1971 after barricading himself with a revolver. He didn't die, but he was permanently paralyzed and sued the government for his injuries. The judge ruled that they were caused by him being negligent; no charges were brought against him.
