There are lots of studies on the power of meditation. It can help people to break negativeassociations so that they can start thinking and building pathways that think more positively into the future. But there's also some studies looking at how a lot of meditation can actually increase egocentricity. People of any ideological belief system s have entrenched beliefs, and they will only see aspects of the external world that they want to see. The government is trying to change this by using nudge tactics such as installing insulation in lofts for example.
