John Spellar says he has never heard an interview like that with a backbencher of any party at any time. It is as though the Conservative party now is having some kind of collective psychotic breakdown from which it cannot see a way out. He's leaving Parliament at the next general election and I'm leaving voluntarily. But unless we get our act together and behave like grown-ups, many hundreds of my colleagues,. perhaps 200 will be leaving at the behest of their electorate. And you know what, John, we shouldn't forget as well that we obviously get very dragged down for want of an expression by the Conservative party, psychodrama, and by the Westminster story.
