"It's a thing that's fascinating about three ages. It's kind of I think its biggest failing is this character is a little too aggressive in all three timelines," he said. "He just has such an innate sense of when the audience is on his side and when he isn't without having to intellectualize it, you know? He puts the character in situations where you're innately going to want to root for him."
