The Second Suspect in the 1838 Cases
Witnesses from the jane alsop case and the lucy scales case indicate that the person they saw was a gentleman, which meant more than just a man. The idea that springhill jack may have been a nobleman has a basis. A party of aristocrats might also be assumed to have access to the coat of mail and the bearskin. Jack was ruomored to appear in which any poorer imitators probably would not.
