Introduction
Last October, we lost the great writer, historian and social theorist Mike Davis. We revisit some of his work and dedicate an episode to this giant of left thought and practice. To guide our discussion, we read the 2006 preface to city of courts excavating the future in Los Angeles. The book carefully reconstructs the social economic and racial developments that converged in late 1980s LA.
