Introduction

Vatlana sikonovskaa is the leader of the opposition to bellerus's authoritarian president, alexander lukashenko. She says that she became a presidential candidate by accident. Her husband was jailed when he submitted his own candidacy for the presidency and she ran in his place. SiganovskaA now leads bellarus's opposition from exile in lith Lithuanian capital vilmis. The former teacher has been nominated for this year's nobel peace prize.
