AI Alignment Is Not a Problem

Some of these recent controversial amazing disturbing interactions reporters have had with Sydney the Microsoft version of this and gets a little cantankerous. Do you think of those simply as the outcome of bad questioning by the interlocutor or is there something in the programming that makes this tool feisty? Well I view those exchanges actually as an example of AI alignment not a problem. If you give it properly detailed specific queries it does better on hard questions than on easy questions. Think of it as a mirror of us in some ways. It's a genius but it doesn't know what you want and we're used to speaking with other human beings who broadly know what we want or who we are.
