The Importance of Democratic Capitalism
The author of a new book calls for more emphasis on the democratic over the capitalist. He argues that capitalism run amok as a threat to democracy is not true. The Sherman anti-trust act was passed primarily to protect competition in the marketplace and therefore protect market based capitalism, he says. But it was also passed because people recognize that massive concentration of wealth in the hands of a few Was bad for democracy.
