The only way that napoleon could have become a general at the age of 24 was because of the french revolution. As the saying goes, revolutions eventually devour their own children. After capturing toulon, young napoleon bonaparte, aged 24, is a rising star. Within three months, he is gone from a captain to a brigadier general. But now as someone identified with robespierre's regime, napoleon must tread carefully once again.
