The Problem With the Theory of No Self in Buddhism

Buddhist should want to say that one and the same person in some sense is reincarnated. If you really take the doctrine of no self seriously it's hard to see how I or anyone could be reincarnated, he says. The Madhyamakas also say that saying that something is conventional either means we're making it all up or we can just decide what conventional reality is going to be like according to Nagarjana.
