Whitney Houston's Acapella

The song opens with Whitney singing acapella with no instrumental backing at all. David Foster didn't like that at first and it was pushed to him by not only Houston but her co-star Kevin Costner. The chorus, just the chorus of that song coming in starkly as it does is the most you can't find a more arresting, compelling, attention grabbing moment in the history of pop music I would say.
