How Does Nietzsche Think Human Beings Use Guilt?

Pierre Nautius: Nietzsche thinks there is some redeeming hope in Christianity. He sees a modern figure such as Napoleon, who he says was the justification of the French Revolution. And that all that guilt helps us to do is to deal with the fear of suffering and not with the suffering itself. But at a deeper level he thinks that the ascetic priests use guilt in order to try to manage our horror in the face of suffering.
