The Myth of the War Lad

During the war, he smoked 16 cigars a day and Eleanor Roosevelt, it was more of a steamy as said. It was astonishing to me that anyone could smoke so much and drink so much and keep perfectly well. But I honestly don't get the impression it was a problem. And certainly in terms of his capacity to function, it doesn't seem to be. So I don't think it's alcoholism. I think he was just a heavy drinker.
